چکیده
Abstract Motivated by the influence of (micro-)cracks on effective electrical properties material systems and components, this contribution deals with fundamental developments electro-mechanically coupled cohesive zone formulations for conductors. For quasi-stationary problems considered, Maxwell’s equations electromagnetism reduce to continuity equation electric current Faraday’s law induction, which non-standard jump conditions at interface are derived. In addition, contributions balance energy discussed restrictions posed dissipation inequality studied. Together well-established purely mechanical problems, present provide basis study mechanically-induced damage processes This is further illustrated a representative boundary value based multi-field finite element implementation.

Dephasing In Coulomb Coupled Conductors
The charge fluctuations of two nearby mesoscopic conductors coupled only via the long range Coulomb force are discussed and used to find the dephasing rate which one conductor exerts on the other. The discussion is based on a formulation of the scattering approach for charge densities and the density response to a fluctuating potential. Coupling to the Poisson equation results in an electricall...
متن کاملMicromechanical-based criteria for the calibration of cohesive zone parameters
This paper presents a new micromechanical model for a collection of cohesive zone models embedded between each mesh of a finite element-type discretization. It aims to forth fully extend the previous linear results of [1] to the calibration of damageable cohesive parameters (cohesive peak stress, critical opening displacement, cohesive energy, etc). The main idea of the approach consists in rep...
